As January continues to slowly end, my practice sessions have come to a halt because of the snow, but that dosent mean that I have to stop working out and on my game, in fact it gives me extra time to work on and talk about other projects Im involved in. Last year I partnered with Autism Speaks here in Seattle and was a part of one of there walks that they do every year and let me tell you that it was awesome. I decided to get involved with Autism Speaks because my nephew has autism and watching him on a day to day basis go about his life and smile as though nothing is wrong was touching. I decided to study up on it and it really is a tough thing to live with. I decided that I wanted to a part of this movement and help raise awareness to autism. As Martin Luther King Jr said,..... You dont have to be famous to be great or to serve. We are all great and we all have a callin to serve whatever it is we believe in. Im no pro golfer or celebrity with access to millions of people, but if I can spark that one person to stand up and help me, then I know many will follow. This season on the Golf Channel Amatuer Tour, for every birdie I make ,.. I plan to donate 5 dollars to my walk now for autism web page . http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/pugetsound/elijahwinfrey
This Season is gonna be great and who knows, maybe some of my playing partners will help as well. Please visit my autism page for more info. Back to golf now. hopefully the weather turns for the better and I can get out and continue my practice sessions as the season is getting closer. Until next time,.. take care and hit them straight.
Back on the blog this week with a report on my game and other things going on in the world of sports. First off is the state of my golf game and the steady progress that Im making. since I bought this tour striker months ago, its really been fantastic and in my opinion its the best training aid on the market. My ball striking is getting better and better with each practice session and my putting which was horrible last year is coming around too. Im really excited about the upcoming season and look to do great things. The Golf Channel Amateur Tour is something I've wanted to do for a while. It gives women and guys like me and you the chance to compete against peers of the same skill set. Its real tournament golf and the course are great. I also will play in four tournaments that I put together with friends of mine to mimmick the four major golf championships that the PGA Tour. Its a way for the guys to get together and compete and have fun doing so. We have a blast every time we get together and this year will be no different. As you can tell, I can get pretty hyped about golf and I have a real drive and determination to still compete. Since joining twitter I've had the chance to me a few people and organizations like ScoresFm Radio and this company is on the rise. I've talked to them via twitter and checked out their site and talk about drive and determination...... well this company has it. Im asking all of you to please check them out at www.scores.fm and their internet radio station at player.radioloyalty.com . If you love sports you will love scores.fm. Well its off to practice. I hope you all have a great week and I will talk to you soon. The season is coming and I cant wait.
I hope you all had a great holiday and I hope the new year brings you all great success. I had a great Christmas with my son who is 15 going on 16 months and my wife who is the love of my life. Life is great and as I continue to prepare for the upcoming golf season, I am proud to announce that I will be playing on the golf channel amatuer tour this season. I'm really looking forward to competing against some of the best players on that tour and I know that hard work and dedication is the only way to do that, so Im really working hard on all aspects of my game. I will play in 7 tour events and will also promote the 4 tournaments that I created so total tournaments this season will be 11. As far as practice goes,... its been going great, the tour striker that I've been using has really been helpful. Im getting closer to hitting my clubs which will come at the end of the month. Until then the tour striker will continue to be the club of choice as I work my swing into shape. My goal this season is to compete and have fun doing it. As I've said before talent is something we all have but skill only comes from hours and hours of working on your craft no matter who or what you want to achieve. If you really work at it, then it will happen for you. there are no shortcuts. The weather has been a little dreary but thats when you really want to practice, because everyone else is sleeping. Talk to you in a couple of weeks, until then............ keep working hard, because someone is always watching you grind in hopes of being just like you.
