Well summer is just about here and things are heating up, so let me get you caught up on what's going on! I just got back from Augusta, GA after watching my nephew graduate high school and it was very emotional for me to see Elijah walk the stage and receive his diploma!! I tried to get video but I could not focus because I was very teary eyed. Elijah was a honor roll student and worked really hard in the classroom and I can't be any more prouder of his efforts. I promised to do all I can for him as he now transitions into the world and chases his dreams. He is a very good artist and I will have a page on my website for him to showcase his drawings and who knows, maybe he gets connected with someone who loves his work! A lot has changed since I've left home, but whenever I visit, I always have a hard time leaving. I hope to be back there in September!
My golf game has been dormant as of late, but that is changing as I write. I had a bit of a break since I last played so my body has healed a bit and it's time to get ready for the second half of the season as things will pick up quickly. This month I have one event and a charity event I will be playing in as we head toward the last 6 events. I still haven't peaked yet but I'm getting close. My ball striking continues to get better and my short game is still a little off, but I do feel that all the hard work is paying off. Did I mention that I love to practice!!
TeamWinfrey is doing great!! We had a setback with our yard sale because of the weather but my two directors Lisa Winfrey and Vickie Daniels plan to have the sale this month. They work really hard at making things work smoothly and I don't know where I would be without them! As you know we not only help our autism community, we also are all about helping the homeless, and we are in talks to partner with The Congregations for the Homeless to help mentor folks who have no place to turn and just need someone to listen and not judge them. I can't wait to help!!
Next week I will be in Springfield, MO visiting my great autism advocates and attending the Miracle League Baseball All-Star game and I'm excited about that! Linda, Jan, Brenda, Elizabeth, Dayna, and Shelli are awesome people who are really making things happen in their community and I can't wait to see them! I'm also looking forward to seeing Trey Brand again, who not only is a terrific bowler, but has taken up golf and I look forward to watching him hit a few golf shots on the range.
Thank you all for always supporting my site! I wish all of you nothing but the best and remember to try and always make someone or something better!
