I hope everybody has enjoyed their summer. My summers been busy, and it seems like I haven't had any time to really slow down and enjoy some of the beautiful aspects of summer. My golf season has begun to wind down and I am happy to say that I am playing more consistently then I was earlier in the season, so my practice sessions have been pretty good and their starting to pay off as I have one more event left to play. My last event I hit the ball really well but I did struggle on the second day, and final round of the event and didn't seem to quite have the same magic I did during the first round but that's golf and it happens to the best of us so I can't really complain about that. I did however finish second in the tour championship which got me into my very last event of the year which is in Palm Springs California.
Overall, I would say compared to past seasons this was probably somewhere in the middle as far as results and ball striking goes, but I'll take it! One win, 5 top 10 finishes, you couldn't have asked for anything better than that going into the year. I would like to thank everyone who supported me this year I really appreciate the love that I get whenever I tee it up and I share my photos with everybody on social media. It makes me feel good and I really feel honored playing for families who have kids on the autism spectrum while also playing for the homeless and underprivileged youth. You all inspire me too never give up, continue to push forward, and work extremely hard. The results will come, and they have and I'm very grateful to all of you for your continued support in that area so thank you so much and I look forward to finishing strong in a couple of weeks.
After this season I am going to take some time and reflect and think about what's ahead for me in golf. I've been thinking a lot about retiring from the game because my body doesn't recover as fast as it once did and there's so many other things that I would love to do in the community to help those who are less fortunate, so I will give that a lot of thought as I enter the offseason.
My charity golf event the Elijah Winfrey charity invitational was a huge success. I would like to thank everyone who participated and donated to TeamWinfrey. We had a great turn out, beautiful weather, and everybody played well. My message to the players was to think of someone who isn't as fortunate as we are to play golf or any sport. We sometimes focus so much on winning that we forget the bigger message in the grand scheme of things which is playing with a purpose and for something bigger than yourself at the end of the day.
My radio show continues to grow and evolve, and Tony and I are very grateful and thankful to the guests and fans of the show. Our goal has always been to provide a platform for you to come on and tell us your story and have an impact on those in the community. You definitely are doing that, so keep it up!
I want to thank everyone for their continued support by clicking on my website and following me on social media it is truly a blessing to have people support your cause and your mission. I wish you all nothing but success and until next month I'll catch you on the flip side bye bye.
