Well the countdown is on until the new year and I', excited!! 2013 was awesome and even though I couldn't play golf due to injuries, I was able to do other things in the community and it felt great!! I want to thank everyone at The First Tee of Greater Seattle for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful program. Evan, Kimberly, Heidi, and Shelby are great people and I would strongly recommend getting your kids involved in the program. I made some wonderful friends and feel very blessed. I look forward to 2014 and working with the awesome kids there. I also did some wonderful things with Make A Wish here in Washington State. Their Gala raised over 1.1 million dollars and I was proud to be a part of that. I'm currently working on a wish that will conclude in January and I'm excited about that! Being vice president of the Autism Guild has been great! I learned a ton and look forward to working with Karen, Andrea, Julie, Patty, Susan, and Lisa next year as we continue to raise awareness for Autism.I started my own nonprofit organization to help the homeless, the underprivileged, and autism families, some who don't have a voice like my sister. I want to make sure TeamWinfrey gives back and help in any way we can. follow us on Facebook and twitter. I'm having my new golf bag designed with the purpose of advocating for families and I'm excited about it! I don't just play golf for me. I feel like when I play, I represent my autism community and that makes me feel good. I also do all of this for my son. I want him to see me as a role model and someday he will take over what I've built and continue to make TeamWinfrey great! My wife also plays a vital role in what I do as she is a huge supporter and I'm very thankful and blessed to have her in my life. I also want to thank all of you for checking out my site! I really appreciate all of you. I hope you all have a wonderful 2014! My radio show Talkin Autism with Lisa and Eli will be back in 2014 as well. I can't thank Lisa Iland enough for joining the show. Lisa is an amazing talent and I treasure our friendship. Catch us on blogtalkradio.com. We hope to have guests very soon. I haven't talked golf have I? Well let me say that I'm trending toward having a great year and I miss my tour buddies. Hank and Craig are two of my closest friends on tour and I can't wait until I get back out there with them and compete. Joe Eng is also a great friend of mine and this guy is the real deal and I look forward to playing with him also. I'm going through a swing change due to my injuries and so far so good. I will play my practice rounds at Bellevue Municipal in preparation for events. I will play a full schedule based on my health and hopefully there are no setbacks. I wish all of you the best and can;t wait to see you in 2014!!
Take Care and God Bless.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!! I enjoyed my Thanksgiving with my family and ate a lot of turkey. Now it's back to the gym and back to training. My body is feeling good and there has been no setbacks, so I've been able to up my reps in the gym and on the range. I'm still a long way away from getting on the course as my swing change will take a while, but January is still looking like the month to get out and work on my sight lines and distance control. The biggest thing I need to work on of course is always putting and short game, but I'm spending more time working on my woods because I've really been struggling with them for a while. I hope to have them dialed in before the season starts. All in all I'm doing well. My non-profit, TeamWinfrey is progressing nicely and we are going to do some big things in 2014 to help the community and we hope to branch out and help other communities as well. We will be having a blanket drive this month to help the homeless that will run through the end of January. If you would like to donate a blanket, towels, or gloves please message us on Facebook or email us at email@example.com. As always thank you for your continued support and I love each of you. Have a wonderful Christmas and remember to make someone or something better. God Bless
