Well,... where do I begin! This year went fast and there were plenty of ups and downs, but in the end I had a ton of ups! As the year kicked off, my organization TeamWinfrey was still in it's infant phase as we hosted our very first fundraiser which was a meet and greet that went well. I'm not much of a public speaker, but as I got more into it, it wasn't bad at all and I really enjoyed it. Coaching at the First Tee of Greater Seattle was also a treat as the kids and coaches were awesome and we made tons of progress and I received two very special awards that will always remain dear to me. The program is excellent and I would advise any parent to get there kids involved. We teach life and core value skills that you will use outside of golf and in the classroom as well as home and with friends. I love what the First Tee is all about and I'm looking forward to 2015 with the program! My golf season was filled with twists and turns. I started the year with a new swing and it took time to get use to it, and along the way my back which has been an ongoing issue kept me out of a few events, but I did win twice and and had a couple of runner ups, but I finished the year on a sour note by signing an incorrect score card which at the end of the day was my fault and I have learned from that. I got to travel around and see some great places and my tour buddy Fredrick Johnson and I became great friends and I look forward to playing with him in 2015 and beating him of course! I'm practicing again and I look forward to having a break out season and staying healthy. I got a new set of irons from Nike that I love! The Nike VR Pro Combos are fantastic and they allow me to maneuver the ball which is nice. I also will be playing a new golf ball from Nike also. The RZN Black is a great ball and the feel is perfect for me. As you all know by now, I play only Nike products because in my opinion they are the best. As I transition now to my radio show Talkin Live with Eli, my show was great and I had some amazing guests on and they totally rocked the house. Shelli Allen, Mari Nosal, Elizabeth Obrey, Scott Aughtry, and many others were awesome! They all do a wonderful job raising awareness for causes that are very important to them and my self. I got a copy of Stars in Her Eyes from the great Linda Barboa who is an outstanding woman. Linda, Shelli, Elizabeth, Jan, and Sandy are an amazing team and next year I look forward to meeting them! Mari Nosal is also an author and a great person who I hope to meet someday along with Linda Mastroianni. Raising awareness for autism is very important to me and it's why I play golf and it's part of my organization. The people I've met thus far are special to me and a lot of my fans are kids and adults on the spectrum as well as moms and dads who see the game thru me as they can't always get out and play, so I take the responsibility to represent my autism community very serious. I also have a niece and nephew who are autistic and it's an honor to represent them. My charity golf event The Elijah Winfrey Invitational was great this year as we raised awareness and funds for my organization. Next year will be even better. I also got a chance to partner with the Seattle Majestics Professional Women's Football team and the girls are top notch! They hosted a golf charity event that was a success and I made some great friends. My organization made the holiday season a special one to the Moreno family. This family is truly amazing and we look forward to being involved with them in the new year. My two directors, Lisa Winfrey and Victoria Daniels are amazing women who do a great job for TeamWinfrey and I can't thank them enough! We added a volunteer member Kirsten Rising who I've known for some time and she is incredible and I'm excited to have her on the team. As I close, I want to thank all of you for taking the time to visit and read my blog. It means a lot to me and I'm very grateful to have great fans and friends check out my site. I wish all of you great success in 2015 and I hope our paths cross. thank you for making 2014 a special one for me. God Bless.
I hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! My thanksgiving was great and now this is the time of year that I enjoy the most. For me it's always been about helping others who are less fortunate and during the month of December my organization TeamWinfrey will be helping families in need have a very special Christmas! Tuesday December 2nd is #GivingTuesday and we are raising funds that day to buy toys , clothes, and other items for less fortunate families. I will play Santa Claus and deliver the gifts personally. I'm very excited and can't wait to see the smiles on the faces of kids, mom's and dad's! This is what it's all about. Having a non-profit that gives back is incredible. I would really appreciate if you would help me by donating to TeamWinfrey. If you can give $10, $15 or $20 dollars to our cause that would be fantastic. It really does make a difference. The year is coming to a close and it's been a great one for me and my organization. We are helping schools, we are raising awareness, and we are giving back and I can't thank you enough for all your support. On the health front, I'm back in the gym getting ready for the 2015 season. I'm really focusing on my core which is something I didn't do last year. My back still is an issue, but I feel like it has made progress and I will have to still pace myself with the amount of practice I'm able to have starting this month. I got fitted to new irons from nike and I can't wait to work on my game. I'm also going to put a new ball into play next season from nike as well. I've been playing the Nike 20XI-X and while I like the ball, I feel like the Nike RZN Black feels better and performs better for me. My schedule will be finalized soon and it looks like Vegas will be a spot next year for me. I will also be visiting Springfield, MO next year as well. I'm looking forward to meeting some wonderful people as I represent TeamWinfrey and meet some wonderful families. I want to thank all of you for supporting me. Before I go, I would like to mention that I'm looking forward to working with Josh Martensen, a personal trainer at the Pro Club in Bellevue, WA. I met Josh while working out and I have to say that he is top notch. I hope you all have a great Christmas and wonderful New Year! Take care and God Bless.
