Can you believe that the year is almost over! Gosh it went by fast! This year has been full of ups and downs for me. TeamWinfrey is in a good place as we get ready to hand out toys and other gifts to families. I want to thank all of you who donated to insure these families have a good holiday season. I'm looking forward to playing Santa and going out in the neighborhood and surprising kids. It's really a treat for me because it makes me feel so good when I see the smile on their faces. As we wrap up another strong year for TeamWinfrey, I want to remind all of you that you can donate at any time. We hope to have a sponsor next year that will also boost our scholarship fund for kids on the autism spectrum to help them graduate high school and receive the one on one teaching they need. We hope to have our yearly 2017 events schedule ready by the middle of January. Thank you all for the support you continue to show my nonprofit organization.
My golf season this year was good. I made steady progress all year and was proud of the way I played. My body held up really well and I look forward to another strong season. I'm currently working on my schedule for next year that will include three one on one match play events against some great friends of mine and I'm excited about that. I'm also excited to announce that I will be playing new clubs next year. I will be playing Mizuno MP-25 irons and the JPX EZ driver & three wood. It will take a while to get use to the feel of the clubs but that's why you practice. the rest of my bag will include Mizuno S5 wedges and a scotty Cameron putter. I wish the season started today. I want to also thank Custom golf bags for making my golf bags. I'm very grateful for the friendship and support and can't wait to display the latest bag they made for me.
My radio show is doing really well. I've had some great guest on and the support has been amazing! Feel free to check me out every Tuesday at 5:30pm pst on Alternative Talk Radio 1150AM. "The Elijah Winfrey Show"
On a somber note, this holiday season has been very tough and emotional for me. As most of you know, I lost my dad one week before Thanksgiving and it's been hard to move forward. My pop was a great man who worked really hard to make sure me along with my sister were doing the right things in life. I owe my pop a lot. I'm so glad he got to see his grandson this fall and I'm glad I got to spend some time with him this past summer. He told me something a long time ago that the hardest thing I will ever do is be myself in a world that will try very hard to change you and what you stand for. at the time, i didn't understand it, but as I've gotten older, I totally understand what he meant. I love and will miss him dearly, but I know he is in a better place and can now watch me try and change this world for the better.
As always, I thank all of you for the support you show me and I wish all of you a very happy holiday season!
